well if the cable diameter matches the f all good but if it doesn't then not good.
A slight difference means the d will not stay connected to the co ax cable. This means even slightest pressure will mean they part company and no picture

we are familiar with the f connector a great simple little device that simply screws on the co ax cable.

We do love to test various pieces of equipment.
Satellite dishes in this case sky dishes and any other satellite dish is easily damaged not many people are familiar with this, for technical reasons some relays dont have the full spectrum of freeview channels.
The totley rise transmitter for instance is just such a relay,if you do want all that freeview as to offer then you will have to go for tapton or emley with a high amplifier or if that isnt possible then a freesat set up. There are no plans to have full freeview on any of these light transmitters we had a shock today coming across a very early top loading video unit still in use.
An hitachi model with a corded remote control, the guy wasnt that old either and certainly wont touch a dvr unit of any sort. Its been repaired a lot and he would struggle to get more parts for it but we like this not everybody jumps on the bandwagon of the new and latest a quick call out to a nice old couple with a few issues and a big cupboard full of fine old tv equipment.
some of these belong in a museum but some are now in our possession . we have arranged for the museum to collect some of these that were probably used to watch the coronation on called out to a very nice house in fulwood with 8 points all not working.
Sounded quite a simple affair a missing amplifier maybe, mast head power unit after a good amount of time we found the cause all 8 cables lead into a distribution box on the roof, well hidden and not visible at all from the ground. You guessed it seal had gone allowing the rain water and this was then coming down each co ax cable A lot of communal systems are now being installed with dab piped and diplexed rather than analogue, strange because analogue radio still outstrips dab radio
most dab radio is recieved via portable units rather than large seperate units as i type this the wind is starting to freshen,so its batten down the hatches and wait for your tv aerial to hit the deck.
old and corroded tv aerial will certainly suffer, but even newish ones will succumb. The other factor is sky dishes will in some cases get ripped off the wall or at best be misaligned. tv aside make sure you move all lose objects in your garden inside even our test meter is permanently set to tapton hill very rarely do we choose emley moor, all for a good reason you can always see the tapton hill transmitter if you look hard enough.
Any relay say tapton receives the main transmitter in this emley moor and retransmits it in vertical polarity. Sounds simple enough but in practice it is far from it. certainly sheffield biggest employers are the university and the two hospitals this reflects in the fact that many of our customers are senior lecturers in a diverse number of subjects.
One day its anatomy the next psychology it all makes a working day very interesting and rewarding. And this means we work in some very nice leafy suburbs filled with big old victorian house, that sometimes represent a challenge in getting on . We also find ourselves fitting tv aerials for students. |
